$3,250 to $3,750 a night for the entire retreat depending on your dates, including the staff and the grounds. The villa next door can be added for $600 a night. Over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year the rate is $5,000 a night. Meals are a separate, optional plan.

No. Las Canas is booked by one group at a time, so the suites, the pools and the beachfront are only for your group.

Yes. The rate is for the whole property, whether you bring 15 people or 60.

The 18 suites have 24 bedrooms and sleep 48 adults in beds, or up to 60 guests with sofa beds and bunk beds. The 4 bedroom villa can be added for more room.

The 18 suites sit in 6 two story buildings. Downstairs, each building has two one bedroom suites with a bathroom and a living room, with no stairs to climb. Upstairs is one two bedroom suite with two bathrooms, a shared living room and a balcony. Half of the buildings face the beach and half face the pool. Every suite has air conditioning, Starlink Wi-Fi, a refrigerator and a private patio or balcony. Beds are a mix of king, queen and twin, with bunk beds in some suites.

A separate house next door with its own pool, which you can add to your stay for $600 a night. It has a glass walled king bedroom with an en suite bathroom that looks straight out to the ocean, two more bedrooms that share a bathroom, a bunk room with its own bathroom, a full kitchen and an ocean facing sunroom.

Our chef cooks for your group on a meal plan at $65 per person per day ($10 breakfast, $25 lunch, $30 dinner), built around your menu choices. On days your group is out, we can do meals à la carte instead. See the menu. We can also stock the fridge with drinks before you arrive.

All of them: a chef, a retreat manager, housekeepers, maintenance, a gardener and 24 hour security are part of every stay.

Two pools (one at the villa), a jacuzzi, the ocean deck, a palapa that seats 40, the cabana with a billiards table and bar, ping pong, a pickleball court, beach volleyball and a bonfire area. Surfboards and paddleboards are free to use.

Yes, 3 nights. Over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year the minimum is 7 nights.

Send us your dates and group size on WhatsApp or by email. We reply within 24 hours with availability and a quote. When you are ready, we send a booking agreement with payment instructions.

Yes. We offer courtesy holds of 72 hours with no financial obligation.

Check in is at 3 pm and check out at 12 noon. If no group is staying the night before you arrive or after you leave, we can usually offer an earlier check in or a later check out at no extra charge.

Puerto Plata airport (POP) is about 55 minutes away by car, Santiago (STI) about 1 hour 45 minutes and Santo Domingo (SDQ) about 3 hours 30 minutes, according to Google Maps. We arrange two way transfers from any airport in the Dominican Republic; the cost depends on the airport and the size of your group.

Cabarete, about 30 minutes away, has beach bars, restaurants and nightlife. We are happy to arrange transport there and back.

Yes. Ceremonies on the ocean deck and dinners on the grounds are popular. We can put you in touch with local wedding planners for the details. See weddings.

Not indoors. There are plenty of outdoor areas where guests may smoke.

Yes. The property is gated, with 24 hour security on site, and we arrange your transfers from any airport. Read what past groups and families say on our reviews page.

Starlink internet (50 to 100 Mbps) covers the whole property. TVs with cable can be arranged on request.

The Beachcomber at Las Canas was our former name. We renamed the retreat Las Canas, after the neighborhood, a few years ago. It is the same place, owned by the same family since 2008. You may also see the name written Las Cañas.
